Hello Sugar Lovers!
Well I thought an introduction was necessary. So hello, my names Ashley. I am new to blogging and admittedly have not a clue what I’m doing as I set this up. However, I did manage to publish my first blog! So I must bask in the small victories. Baking is something I have recently started to dabble in. It has been interesting trying new things. My grandmother has been a very big inspiration to me. She has no professional experience that I know of but she is amazing at it. I firmly believe that she could bake anything you can possibly think up. Her creativity and eye for detail always amazes me. I can’t hope to be as great as she is but I can certainly try and do her proud. One of the things that really made me take notice was a baked good she made for my cousins buck and doe. Get this…she made…the millennium falcon….you heard me, the millennium falcon. The nerd in me was jumping for joy. She certainly has years of baking experience so I am not surprised that she made something so cool. I can’t wait until I get to the “millennium falcon” point of my adventure.
Now I have never been a great cook. I can cook an egg and toast. That’s pretty much the extent of my skills. However, I have always been better at baking. At least that means its not all bad news. I may not get a healthy dinner when cooking for myself but I can enjoy the dessert after! Luckily my fiance does the cooking in our house hold. So he is the reason I have not starved to death.
I must admit I have no professional experience baking. I tip my hat to anyone that does. I’m sure they will do a much better job than me but it will be a fun adventure to try.As I began to think about it I thought it would be nice for people with no experience to have some place to go to learn basics. What better way to do that than someone just like all of you who are starting out. So I am excited to take this journey with you through what I am sure will be a very frustrating experiences at times. I am sure there will be ups and downs but as I said before we must bask in the small victories.
I have also lovingly provided the hidious first attempt I made at my frist round cake last year. So you see my point, No expert here! Practice makes perfect so here we go. I appreciate anyone who has decided to become a reader just know I value your support. To all my fellow explorers, good luck to us on our new adventure!

Your fellow neighborhood baker,
Ash
